Artist's Description

Taken at the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado. The mountain is named in honor of American explorer Zebulon Pike who was unable to reach the summit. Pictured is the Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway cog railroad operating from Manitou Springs to the summit year-round, conditions permitting. Pikes Peak is located in Pike National Forest, 12.0 miles west by south of downtown Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States.
