USS MIlwaukee 3 - The USS Milwaukee pictured here on November 17, 2015, on here arrival to Milwaukee, WI., for her commissioning. Her homeport will be San Diego Naval Base. USS Milwaukee (LCS-5) is a Freedom-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy. She is the fifth ship to be named for the city of Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin. She was laid down on 27 October 2011 at Marinette Marine (Lockheed Martin), Marinette, Wisconsin; launched on 18 December 2013; sponsored by Mrs. Sylvia M. Panetta, wife of Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta; and commissioned on 21 November 2015. She is 378.3 ft in lenght, has 2 - Rolls-Royce MT30 36 MW gas turbines
2 - Colt-Pielstick diesel engines and 4 - Rolls-Royce waterjets, and can do speeds up to 52 MPH. She can complement up to 50 core crew, 75 with a mission crew.
