Description
Navajo Lake - Navajo Lake is located in the Dixi National Forest, near Duck Creek Village in Utah. The lake was formed when a prehistoric lava flow dammed the east side of the valley. Researchers have learned that water travels underground through the plateau in a number of tubes that formed in the cooling lava. Here and there water will pop up to the surface in rivers and springs and disappear mysteriously, only to reappear elsewhere in the area. The most recent lava flows may be no older than 1,000 years old.
